Borderz – Ecuador

Had a pretty long border crossing into Ecuador even though the lines were fast, just many steps.

For those of you that want to know what a border approach looks like…
Hung out with some bikers from Ecuador while gathering our docs.
Leaving Colombia 🙁

Revzzz

Sit back and turn up the volume as I chase down some kids riding through the hills of Colombia.

BTW, this kid pulled over and gave me a thumbs-up, did a short prayer, and then asked me to lead the way…

You can see him in my mirror …

Just for reference, the grades on these hills run from 5-19%, the camera just doesn’t capture it 🙁

Cali Boyz

It was a rather late start to that day, but I managed to find some helmet footage..

And not sure what language butterflies speak, but it appears to be ice cream.

Got out early the next day to head to Pasto…

Bogataz

Of course, the weekend we shipped the bikes was a long holiday – everything was closed Monday.

Bolivar Plaza… one of many to come.
View from Monserrate, pretty nice day!

Graffiti is legal in most SA countries, some decent stuff on display in Bogota.

Great food all around, but Anna & Otto’s pizza was a highlight.

Walked around Santa Barbara market…

Bikes arrived…

My bike had some damage to the top case, Alex’s was fine.

Wouldn’t be right without a power outage, even this planned one lasted four hours. Long day!
Bikes made their tiny elevator trip out of the cargo bay – finally ready for the last leg!!!

Panamaz ++

It’s been a while since the last post, sorry about that! Got some pics and stuff from the last days in Panama, so much fun spending time with the fam.

Ship moving through the canal – super cool!
Storms moving on over one of the locks. We were lucky to be out of the elements.
Anyone know what the targt is for? $100 to the winner!!!!
Yeah, neon is totally in style in CA/SA??
Trip to the fish market on the last day..
Some fresh sardines you can’t find in most markets.

Forgot about this one from the island…

Someone’s favorite restaurant that always had a line except the night we went in!

Birds flying along with the ferry, trying to catch fish pushed off the bow.

Adios Central Americaz

Met up with some fellow bikers from Chiapas, MX. They really had their bikes loaded up! They are heading down through Brazil and then back up the opposite route.

Here are the bikes at the final staging area before they get on the plane to Bogota.

If you ever get a chance to visit, Casco Viejo is definitely the place to stay, great part of the city.

There’s always some lightning over the old town at night…

We were here about 6 years ago, and the place has dramatically changed. More restaurants, and some of the places from the new part have moved to old town.

Dronez – Tobago Island

Spent the day at the beach, where the currents come together….

You can see the boats lining up in the distance to head to the canal.

The wind was rather strong, and the birds were not happy, so sorry about the short footage….

You can see where we launched from.

And one of the boats… little bumpy!

Bikerboyz – Progress

As we take some downtime, here’s the map again…

We’re about 1/2 way after 50 days – today, in fact! Why does it look like it should be shorter now? Well, the equator plays a huge role in this. Look at how long Chile really is. – from https://www.thetruesize.com/

Chile is almost as long as Fairbanks to La Paz, Baja.
