Death Roadz – Bolivia

For those of you who don’t ride, it’s a must-ride place! Read more about it here…

There’s a lot of content in this one, it was one of the best rides of the entire trip. Took about 4 hours to complete.

The ride in from La Paz was a little cold, wet, and foggy.

We arrived at the end of Death Road, not much to look at…

They really don’t expect many people on this end…

There was a guy from Brazil there questioning his sanity, he left without attempting the road. It was very humid, foggy, and wet.

Finally got on the road… some highlights? Well, you’re supposed to stay left since we are on the high approach. That means we’d be riding the outside edge all the way down.

The clouds moved in and it was pretty dark and narrow for a while. There were a bunch of mountain bikers on the trail as well.

Some parts were a little sketchy…

Some parts were totally green and tropical!

Stopped to take out the drone…

Got it in the air, but the wind and clouds were not helping. Couldn’t get it to lock on, but got some cool shots.

Finally got a place to hover, got a chance for a drive-by shot!

Had to fly it back, clouds were moving in again and the wind in the valley was picking up…

Headed to the end…well, the beginning!

We got stopped at a gate from emergency services who asked for a donation… apparently the road is so narrow it’s safest to have an escort. Made a donation of $20 bucks.

There were still some surprises along the way.

Made it!!
